Replacing Parallel Nsight Highlighting

Dec 5, 2011 at 4:28 AM

Followed the instructions mentioned on the home page. Even had to reboot into safe mode to alter the specified file. However both VS2008 and VS2010 are still showing Parallel Nsight's crappy syntax highlighting. Also tried to reset the font/color cache which did not work either.

Would really like to know what else to try?

There is probably another pkgdef files that is replacing NShader extensions.

You could follow this post: Troubleshooting pkgdef Files by running your VS2010 with /log and check which pkgdef are actually loaded on your system.

Also, I have slightly modified the workaround for Nsight overrides (you should only remove the lines instead of replacing them by NShader).

Well removing the lines worked for VS2010, but not VS2008 (I use both). It also created a new problem, if I rename a file to have '.fxh' extension it causes visual studio to start throwing nonsensical errors followed by a crash.
